Project 52::10

52:10

 LIFE

But all things should be done decently and in order
1 Corinthians 14:40

There is just something about the diapers being washed, organized, and in color order.  These aren’t all of them just the most recent load, but it just makes me happy when I get them washed, stuffed and in order as opposed to in a pile, selected as they are needed.

We have been doing cloth diapers for about 9 months now, as we started when L was about a month old since I was rather uneducated on the newborn diapers.  Anywhoo…the use of cloth diapers in this house has changed images a bit since the beginning.  Gone are the days of throwing them all in the dirty bin without a second thought until wash day.  Oh no, since the introduction of more solid foods the diaper situation has gotten a bit ugly at times and not as glamorous as it once was.  I have done it long enough though that I am in love with cloth diapering and am slightly addicted to buying them, a little poo can’t change my mind at this point in the game.

Now days the way I deal with the yucky ones is not my first choice which is why a diaper sprayer is on its way from Amazon.com to my house.  At the present the poo diapers get dunked in the toilet while it’s flushed numerous times until they are semi clean then placed in the dirty bin.  I wash about every 3 days sometimes every 1 or 2 depending on the number of poo diapers we’ve had since I don’t like them to sit long.  I still have the same wash routine though a cold rinse followed by a hot wash and two cold rinses.  I still use Charlie’s Soap and I have not yet had a problem with the diapers being stinky after the wash…it seems to not matter how gross they are going in they always come out fresh and white.  I also have started doing “tub wash” cycles on my washer to sanitize my washer, I don’t know if its necessary or not but it makes me feel better.  At the present we use about 5-6 diapers a day and still use disposable diapers at night since I got tired of L waking up at night because he was cold and wet and then having to change jammies and sheets at 2 am!!

And that my friends is what our cloth diaper journey looks like at 10 months old

52:5 Stretch

Life

52:5

lately my life has been a big STRETCH

I have gone out of my comfort zone so many times the past two weeks, I can only give credit to God, I have prayed a lot lately but basically since moving to Houston 3 years ago that God would bring me a good group of christian women to connect to.  I know that God puts people in and out of our lives at just the right time and he has put some fantastic people in my life lately.  It has taken me out of my comfort zone but I know friendships and relationships go both ways, I knew I needed to step out and make an effort.  I am so glad I stretched myself and went out of my comfort zone because I have met up with and hung out with some really cool people the past two weeks and I am really looking foreword to what the future has in store for these new blossoming friendships!

52:4 BUSY

LIFE

52:4 BUSY

Sometimes, life gets insanely busy and any free moment I have I want to spend doing nothing, which is why my project 52 didn't get done last week...life got away with me and before I knew it it was late on friday night and there was no picture to be had.

Oh, well, such is life.

52:3 Relax

Life
in life sometimes we just need to RELAX

It seems that as I get older and especially since having Landon that life operates full steam ahead at all times and even when I'm sleeping or lying down my mind is still working in over drive.
I don't like that.

I need to take more time to relax, so what if all my "chores" don't get done, I need to be ok with that sometimes.  I need to cherish every moment with my family because tommorow is not guaranteed and time seriously flies by! I blinked and my baby is now so big and getting more grown by the moment.

Being able to relax is so important to our well being and I am putting it on my to do list!

Project 52:2 :: Giggles

52:2
Life
is getting the GIGGLES

Sometimes, L gets a bad case of the giggles.  Especially when he is super tired he becomes giggly and delirious.  I love those times because he will just laugh and giggle on and on and then he gets super excited and will start to screech and wave his arms and legs all over the place like he has so much happiness and excitement he just cant get it out fast enough.  Its so cute.  He is most ticklish on his tummy and his sides, we were having a bad case of the giggles while playing peekaboo, his new favorite game

The most wasted of all days is that in which we have not laughed

Project 52:1 :: Bliss

I'm linking up with Shawna at StyleberryBlog for project 52 this year.  I saw this last year and decided that I wanted to participate this year.  Its called project 52 and basically each week you take a picture that tells a story, at the end of the year I plan to put them together in a photobook

I wanted to pick a focus and I really couldn't think of anything other than LIFE.  This blog is about my life and at the end of the year I want a book about my life.  Life is so fluid and constantly changing and morphing into something else.

52:1 LIFE

Right now my life with this little guy is Bliss, he is so easy to please and when I look at this picture, this smile, I can hear his sweet laugh and its something I want to never forget.

Bliss

I'm Katie a 27 year old mommy and wife. Welcome to my blog where I will chronicle the happenings of my life as I find the balance between being both SAHM by day and CVICU nurse by night.

I love Jesus and strive to be more like Christ every day. Running, reading, and cooking are some of my favorite past-times. I love photography but I am no pro, but it helps I have such a cute subject to practice on!!
